Innovation and IP Rights International Conference

In order to  encourage innovation, creativity, productivity, increase awareness of industrial Property, strengthen national innovation system and develop cooperation among related authorities, with the support of  Economic Research Foundation, Turkish Patent Institute has arranged an international conference, the topic of which was “Innovation and Industrial Property Rights” on 4 December 2009.

The speech of the event, performed in Istanbul the Marmara Hotel, was made by Economic Researches Foundation Chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmet İNCEKARA, Turkish Patent Institute Chairman Prof. Dr. Habip ASAN, EPO Academy and Intellectual Property Research Department Administrator Christoph BRUHN, WIPO Department Chairman of Relations with Middle Europe, Mediterranean and Baltic Countries Dr. Biserka STREL. In their opening speech, the speakers emphasized the contribution of innovation to economic competition power, the critical significance of industrial property during the process of Research and Development and Innovation and the significance of technical information covered by patent documents.

Practicing theoretical information and innovation produced in various fields and presenting them to community’s benefit, commercializing innovation play a significant role in terms of the continuity of the development of industrial property rights. Turkish Patent Institute, aiming, in terms of all sectors, the development of Turkish economy and the development of structure of creative and innovative economy and industry, because of its strategic position, via industrial property rights, by bringing all segments within property system together, it prepares ground for share of information, knowledge and experience.
