AIPPI TURKEY will be organised an Intellectual Property Law Seminar on April 8-9,2011.

In the current communication and information age we live in, the significance of intellectual and industrial property rights has become much better understandable due to the influence of the rapid developments in the science and arts.

In order to ensure a better protection for these rights, specific laws have been promulgated, special courts have been established, and special applications and institutions have been placed in Turkey as well as in many countries around the world. Special institutions and implementations for the protection of intellectual and industrial property rights may differ from country to country; there may be many problems in the enforcement process. To this respect, "Intellectual Property Law Seminar from a Turkish and International Perspective, including mock patent and trademark trials", has been organised on April 8-9, 2011 at Istanbul Ramada Hotel, so as to create a better understanding of Intellectual Property Rights enforcement from a Turkish and international perspective, to observe the differences between the applications of different jurisdictions and to discuss issues in this field and suggest solutions, in cooperation with AIPPI and AIPPI Turkey - Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property. In this Seminar, with the participation of Turkish and foreign judges, attorneys at law and patent attorneys, two mock trials, respectively in trademark law and patent law, will be conducted, also side presentations, dealing with enforcement institutions in the field of intellectual and industrial property law, will be made by Turkish and foreign attorneys at law and professors. At the same time, the seminar aims to provide a convenient environment to gather Judges, Public Prosecutors, Attorneys at law and professors and to discuss current issues and relevant solution suggestions on the basis of enforcement and doctrine.

It would be a distinctive opportunity to be in Istanbul, the city with its historic fabric and natural beauty, where the seminar will be conducted in, especially for our guests coming from abroad.

Besides Asian and European countries, Istanbul also connects different cultures and is a cosmopolitan and charming city, one of the most popular and oldest cities in Europe and has been the capital of many states with its historical and modern architecture, its entertainment venues and the beauty of the Bosphorus also known as the Istanbul Strait. Thereof, for our guests accompanying attendants to the seminar, social activities have been planned to take a closer look at the city.
