Search and Examination Performed By the Turkish Patent Institute (TPI)

TPI has announced that as from January 1, 2005 for patent applications, the TPI could also be chosen as Search/Examination Authority as well as four other foreign Search/Examination Authorities. The Turkish patent applications which are examined and no discrepancy has been found in formal terms according to the Implementing Regulations of the Decree Law No. 551 would also be subject to a further evaluation by the in-house technical team and the applicant will be advised whether search/examination of the subject application can also be performed by the TPI.
